The Powersafe series is based on a standard for 1 pole high-current connectors with mechanical wrench developed by the European power industry. The connectors and standard were first introduced in 1993 by Litton Veam and were quickly accepted by leading generator set manufacturers, electricity distributors, the construction industry, the entertainment industry and power companies, among others.
This type of connector is now used in a variety of applications such as military, marine, rail and ports.
The Powersafe/Powerlock connector was developed by engineers who were involved in introducing the standard for high-current connectors. Their combined expertise and experience in the design and development of connectors for electric power combined with their knowledge of the applications and user requirements is very uniquely comparable to other manufacturers.
The Powersafe connectors are fully compatible with previous generations of high-current connectors, but have a completely new design in terms of the connector elements and choice of materials, which means that the Powersafe connectors can handle higher constant current and higher short-circuit current compared to previous generations. This makes the Powersafe devices one of the systems with the highest current capacity on the market today.
